Algeria, naval cadet awarded Italian sword

(ANSA) – ALGERI, 20 GIU – Yesterday, the graduation ceremony was held at the Algerian Navy School, during which the Military Attaché of the Italian Embassy in Algiers, Colonel Ciro Piergianni, presented the honorary sword – donated by the Livorno Naval Academy – to the best graduate for merits of study. The Italian Embassy in Algeria made this known today on its social media.
“This sober but significant ceremony, wants to underline the importance that the Navy gives to the solid relationship of friendship with the Algerian Navy, testifying to increasingly strong ties that extend to multiple sectors, from defence to industry, from trade to culture,” reads the note from the Italian diplomatic office.
Colonel Piergianni, the post further informs, congratulated the Algerian student who received the award, stressing the importance of becoming, through daily commitment, study and example, a ‘witness’ of the values and principles that distinguish our democratic institutions.
