(ANSA) – ROME, JAN 27 – Holocaust survivor and Life Senator Liliana Segre on Monday said it is always time to remember the Holocaust.
“The memory of the Shoah is always”, she said, the only words pronounced by Segre when she arrived at a ceremony to mark Holocaust Remembrance Day in the Jewish district of Rome.
Segre was welcome by the President of the Union of Italian Jewish Communities (UCEI) Noemi Di Segni and by the Chief Rabbi of Rome Riccardo Di Segni at Portico d’Ottavia in the Jewish Ghetto where Nazis rounded up over 1,000 Jews on October 16, 1943 to send them to concentration camps. (ANSA).
