A Proven Financial Strategist with Global Experience
Borg has built a distinguished reputation as a finance executive known for implementing strategic financial initiatives and managing complex organizations across diverse industries. Throughout her career, she has held senior finance roles in sectors such as energy, renewables, and defense. She is also an active member of the financial community, serving as a Non-Executive Board Director and Chair of the Audit Committee at Ricardo PLC, a UK-listed engineering and environmental consulting company.
Leadership in Financial Transformation and Governance
Before joining Amadeus, Borg was Group CFO at QinetiQ Group PLC, a FTSE 250-listed multinational defense and security company headquartered in the UK. In this role, she played a crucial part in driving revenue growth and overseeing financial operations, ensuring sustainable expansion through acquisitions and governance enhancements.
Prior to her tenure at QinetiQ, she served as CFO at Lightsource bp Renewable Energy, a leading global solar energy company. There, she spearheaded the transformation of financial and governance structures, contributing to the company’s successful full acquisition by bp.
Borg also spent a decade at VESTAS, a global leader in wind energy, where she held multiple senior finance positions. Her roles included Head of Strategy, Risk & Governance, Vice President of Consolidation, Planning & Reporting, and Senior Vice President and Regional CFO for Southern Europe, MENA, and Latin America. Her vast experience in these roles further solidified her expertise in financial strategy and governance.
“Carol’s wide breadth of industry and organizational experience as a Group CFO was a real attraction to us: her multi‑decade career reflects a strong commitment to innovation throughout, and to delivering and enabling transformation and change for technology‑focused multi‑national organizations, often in complex financial environments. She will be a real asset to Amadeus, and I am looking forward to her getting started with us on May 5.”

Originally from Australia, Borg has lived and worked in four countries, including Spain, the UK, Denmark, and Australia. Her multicultural background and international experience align with Amadeus’ global operations, making her an ideal fit for the role. Based in Madrid, she will report directly to Amadeus President and CEO Luis Maroto and will also serve as a key member of the company’s Executive Committee.
Strengthening Amadeus’ Financial Future
With her extensive expertise in financial management, governance, and strategic execution, Borg’s appointment is expected to drive further growth and operational excellence at Amadeus. As the company continues its global expansion, her leadership will play a critical role in navigating financial strategies that support Amadeus’ long-term success.
“I’m thrilled to be joining Amadeus at this pivotal moment in its journey. My international experience with technology‑driven organizations will complement the incredible talent already at Amadeus.
