(ANSA) – ROMA, 17 SET – “The Uae-Ita Defense Industry Forum marks another step forward in the strategic partnership between Italy and the Emirates, following the historic state visit of Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to Italy last February.” This was said by the Ambassador of Italy to the UAE, Lorenzo Fanara, opening the two-day Italian defense industry event in Abu Dhabi. “On that occasion,” he added, “Rome hosted a Business Forum, which brought together more than 200 Italian and Emirati companies active in all sectors, including defense. Today’s initiative is a follow-up to that summit and a further concrete step, in the Emirates, of our strategy of growth diplomacy aimed at supporting exports and the development of Italian companies abroad.” Sponsored by the Ministries of Defense of the two countries and the Embassy of Italy in Abu Dhabi, in conjunction with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Federation of Italian Companies for Aerospace, Defense and Security (Aiad), the Uae-Ita Defense Industry Forum is hosted by the Tawazun Council for Defense Enablement, an Emirati government agency responsible for the defense industry.
The program includes presentations by more than 50 Italian and Emirati companies and meetings to deepen existing collaborations and initiate new export opportunities and industry partnerships.
