(ANSA) – ROMA, 03 FEB – The Italian Ambassador to Kiev, Carlo Formosa, held a meeting with the head of the Ukrainian National Commission for UNESCO, Deputy Foreign Minister Mariana Betsa. Among the topics discussed – the embassy reports – were cooperation within the UN organisation and Italy’s support for the protection of Ukraine’s cultural heritage in the face of Russian aggression, as well as our country’s leading role in the enhancement of Ukrainian identity; the action of international organisations, in particular the UN, with reference to the war in Ukraine and the initiatives for the third anniversary of the start of Russian aggression on a large scale; Kiev’s policy regarding Ukrainians abroad, residents and refugees, specifically on how to preserve ties with the motherland and encourage their return.
