(ANSA) – ROMA, 10 FEB – “Italy confirms its convinced support for the intra-Yemeni peace process as a fundamental prerequisite for renewed stability in Yemen.” This was the message that Ambassador Carlo Baldocci conveyed to the Yemeni Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Shaya Mohsin Zindani, during the presentation ceremony of his letters of credentials as non-resident ambassador of Italy for the Republic of Yemen, which took place yesterday at the Yemeni Foreign Ministry headquarters in Riyadh.
During the lengthy and cordial conversation with Minister Zindani, Ambassador Baldocci reaffirmed Italy’s commitment to contribute to the dynamics of regional détente, which is also essential to ensure security and freedom of navigation in the Red Sea.
Minister Zindani expressed his deep appreciation for the Italian decision to appoint a new accredited ambassador for Yemen, thus consolidating a historic relationship that over the decades has seen Italy at the forefront in the fields of development cooperation, education and archaeological missions”.
