(ANSA) – BELGRADO, 28 MAG – The Italian Ambassador to Serbia, Luca Gori, met today with the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management, Dragan Glamočić. The meeting focused on trade relations between Italy and Serbia in the agri-food sector, also in light of the recent Italian participation in the Novi Sad Agriculture Fair as a strategic partner, and of the centrality that the agri-tech theme has played in the three Business fora organised in recent years between Rome and Belgrade.
The Ambassador also raised the issues related to the marketing of pork derivatives and other food products in Serbia, expressing the expectation that a long-term solution could soon be found, in line with the directives of the World Health Organisation and the European Union.
“The agri-food sector is one of the pillars of economic relations between our countries, with an interchange that in 2024 exceeded 642 million euros, up 18%,” Ambassador Gori said. “Promoting the excellence that Italy offers in the agri-tech sector and the organisation of the supply chain,” added Gori, “means contributing to innovating agricultural production in Serbia and improving production yields, product quality, and the working conditions of operators in the sector. This is why, also in the light of Ferrero’s success story in Serbia, we want to share our cooperative model with our Serbian partners’.
