(ANSA) – BELGRADO, 19 SET – The Italian Ambassador to Serbia, Luca Gori, met today with the Serbian Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management. Dragan Glamočić. During the talks, it was emphasized that Italy represents one of the most important and promising markets for Serbia. Opportunities for increasing Italian investments in Serbia, especially in the processing sector, were also discussed in order to contribute to improving the competitiveness of Serbian agriculture.
During the meeting, Italy’s prominent participation in the International Agricultural Fair in Novi Sad and the International Fair “Wine Vision by Open Balkan” was emphasized. There are numerous Italian companies, including Ferrero, investing in the Serbian agricultural sector creating jobs, innovation and development opportunities for the entire sector. In this regard, a joint visit of Minister Glamočić and Ambassador Gori to the Ferrero company in Serbia was announced. Finally, the possibility of signing a new MoU between the Serbian Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management and the Italian Ministry of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forestry was discussed to deepen and renew bilateral cooperation mechanisms.
“Italy and Serbia have important margins of cooperation to exploit in the agriculture and production processing sector,” said Ambassador Gori. “We will continue to invest in the International Agriculture Fair in Novi Sad and the “Wine Vision by Open Balkan,” he added, as well as in the creation of organic districts on the model of the Italian ones.”
