Data from 104 countries reveal that, in 2023, one out of every six confirmed bacterial infections around the world were resistant to at least one commonly used antibiotic. That finding is profoundly relevant for India and fits the conclusions of multiple studies led by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and others.
