(ANSA) – BUENOS AIRES, 03 GIU – Monuments and historic buildings throughout Argentina were illuminated with the tricolour flag to mark Republic Day on 2 June and Italian Immigrant Day on 3 June.
The traditional tribute by Argentina’s national and local institutions followed celebrations that began on 30 May with a reception at the Italian Embassy in Buenos Aires and continued on Saturday 31 with a concert by singer-songwriter Vinicio Capossela at the Teatro Coliseo in Buenos Aires.
The musical event was preceded by speeches by Ambassador Fabrizio Lucentini and Consul General Carmelo Barbera and was followed by a cocktail party organised by the Italian Consulate of Buenos Aires at the old Circolo Italiano.
