(ANSA) – ROME, AUG 13 – At least 20 migrants are reported to have drowned after their small boat capsized off Lampedusa Wednesday, rescuers said.
Rescue operations were described as being “very complex”.
Some 20 bodies have been recovered and there are 70-80 survivors.
It is feared there mat be more victims.
It is one of the worst recent tragedies off the small stepping-stone island between Sicily and Tunisia. (ANSA).
