Big plays, huge moments, and non-stop phygital action continue on Day 3 of Phygital Contenders Astana 2026

Astana, Kazakhstan – 13 June 2026: Competition intensified on Day 3 of the international PHYGITAL CONTENDERS ASTANA 2026 tournament in Astana, as teams battled through the playoff and semifinal stages in pursuit a place in the finals and a chance at qualification for the Games of the Future 2026. By the end of the day, the participants advancing to the next rounds in the football and basketball disciplines had been determined.

DAY 3 RESULTS: PHYGITAL FOOTBALL
The Round of 16 got underway with four knockout encounters that delivered convincing wins, dramatic comebacks and a penalty shootout decider.

Oeste SP produced the most emphatic result of the day, defeating Lahore Athletics 7-2 overall. After the teams were level at 1-1 following the digital stage, Oeste SP took full advantage of a sending-off for their opponents and dominated the physical stage 6-1 to secure progression.

NoName Club also booked their place in the quarter-finals with a 5-3 victory over Los Fieles. Having taken a narrow 1-0 lead in the digital stage, they responded strongly in the physical match, scoring four unanswered goals in the second period to complete a 4-3 comeback win.

KMF Titograd advanced after overcoming JR Style 4-2 overall. With the digital stage ending goalless, the match was decided on the physical field, where KMF Titograd delivered a composed performance to claim a 4-2 victory.

The closest contest of the day saw FC Olympic Phygital edge past MNK in a penalty shootout. Both the digital and physical stages ended 1-1, leaving the teams level at 2:2 on aggregate. FC Olympic Phygital held their nerve from the spot, winning the shootout 2:1 to secure their place in the next round.

DAY 3 RESULTS: PHYGITAL BASKETBALL
Seven matches were played in the Phygital Basketball competition, producing several closely contested encounters and a number of impressive performances.

Team Elites opened the day with a 40–27 victory over GEPCO, while ZM NITUI edged past Vozdovac 33–29 in a competitive matchup. MINSK also secured an important win, defeating ARENA BULLS 33–27.

Later in the day, Vozdovac responded strongly by overcoming UZBEK HYPER HOOPS 36–30. Valencia Basket continued its strong form with a 33–23 win against Team Elites, while Triada delivered one of the most dominant performances of the day, defeating GEPCO 38–18.

The final game saw ARENA BULLS bounce back from their earlier defeat, claiming a hard-fought 35–30 victory over BOCA to close out the day’s action.
