(ANSA) – ROMA, 09 GIU – The Consulate General of Italy and the Catholic Italian Language Mission in Zurich organise the presentation of the book ‘Space Ecology. From Earth to Moon to Mars’, by scientist Patrizia Caraveo.
Patrizia Caraveo is one of the most important figures in Italian astrophysics, with a career dedicated to the study of neutron stars, pulsars and high energy astrophysics. She worked for the CNR and later for Inaf, where she was director of the Institute of Space Astrophysics and Cosmic Physics in Milan. She has played a central role in numerous international space missions, including Nasa’s Fermi observatory, Esa’s Integral, Asi’s Agile and the Swift mission. Author of over 400 scientific publications, she has also excelled in popularisation, publishing books and participating in public events. She has received numerous awards, including the Premio Presidente della Repubblica (2009), the Premio Enrico Fermi (2021), and has been listed among the Top Italian Women Scientists. She is currently president of the Italian Astronomical Society.
