The author, Dame Jilly Cooper, tragically passed away on October 5, 2025 and the next day, her children, Felix and Emily released a statement regarding the same. In the statement, they confirmed their mother’s tragic death, which came after a fall. Felix and Emily called their mother the shining light of their lives. They also explained that they are completely shocked by her passing and cannot imagine life without her. They were quoted as saying:
“Mum was the shining light in all of our lives. Her love for all of her family and friends knew no bounds. Her unexpected death has come as a complete shock. We are so proud of everything she achieved in her life and can’t begin to imagine life without her infectious smile and laughter all around us.”
