Famous Indian director and screenwriter Payal Kapadia has arrived at the 78th Festival Of Cannes, the world’s biggest film festival, from May 13, 2025 until May 24, 2025. Back in 2024, Payal was the first Indian lady director to take part in the main event competition of the Cannes Film Festival. Her drama movie, All We Imagine As Light, was the first Indian film to reach the stage in 2024. Now, in 2025, Payal has come as a jury member and for the Cannes opening ceremony, she was seen in a ‘Power Suit’.

Payal looked like a perfect boss lady as she slayed on the red carpet of the Festival de Cannes. Her power suit was basically a deconstructed plaid suit, which was styled by costume designer and fashion stylist, Indrakshi Pattana. Payal in Rishta by Arjun Saluja looked royal in the power suit. Now, Indrakshi, in an interview with News 18, spoke about Payal’s look and revealed that the director loved the power style dressing of the ’80s. Indrakshi shared:
“Payal [Kapadia] is a dear friend. She loves the 80s power suit style and I really wanted to explore that in her look. And Arjun [Saluja] was the best person to execute the vision. Arjun and I have been meaning to collaborate for a while for Payal and I am glad it all fell into place.”
