On the heels of a contentious legal battle with his ex-manager, Chance the Rapper has announced a tour to commemorate the 10th anniversary of Coloring Book. But will the concert series fall victim to “blue dot fever”?
That’s a pressing question not only for the Star Line rapper, but for a number of acts who are hitting the road in what’s best described as an uncertain live entertainment climate. Out of the gate, Chance has teed up 38 North American dates for The Coloring Book 10 Tour, which will begin in the artist’s native Chicago on August 8th.
From there, the leg is expected to touch down in New York, Memphis, Raleigh, Birmingham, Reno, Toronto, and elsewhere en route to wrapping in Pittsburgh on October 11th.
(As lamented by fans on social media, the current schedule doesn’t include stops in Indianapolis, Detroit, or D.C. Incidentally, Chance’s 2025 And We Back Tour reached D.C. but not the former two cities.)

As some will recall from Chance’s initially mentioned courtroom confrontation with Pat the Manager, the DIY-committed artist allegedly has an aversion to inking deals of any kind.
Bearing as much in mind, although Live Nation is aboard as the tour’s promoter, the official poster indicates that tickets will become available via ChanceStuff.com next week – referring specifically to an artist presale on the 19th, a couple more presales on the 20th, and then a general onsale on the 21st.
Additionally, it appears that Chance will be busy backstage as well; Live Nation’s VIP Nation is poised to offer premium passes featuring, besides different things, artist meet-and-greet opportunities.
Back to the mentioned question – will the tour fall victim to blue dot fever? – it’ll be interesting to see how many fans come out to see Chance.
On one hand, a cursory look at the booked venues suggests that selling through the initial dates won’t be impossible. Furthermore, it’s clear at this point that nostalgia definitely helps move tickets; the decision to invoke Coloring Book as opposed to last year’s Star Line when marketing the tour is telling.
On the other hand, that Chance has had career ups and downs isn’t a secret, and both festivals and well-known artists (among them Post Malone and the Pussycat Dolls) are encountering turbulence due to operational obstacles and slow ticket sales, respectively.
