Colonel Sofiya Qureshi Shares Unheard Details Of 'Operation Sindoor' On 'KBC 17', 'We Had To...'

April 22, 2025, was one of the darkest days in Indian history. For the uninitiated, India’s ‘Mini Switzerland’, Baisaran Valley in Pahalgam, came under attack and took away 26 innocent lives on April 22, 2025. However, India didn’t take much time to retaliate. In the early hours of May 7, 2025, India made a counterattack on Pakistan’s terror camps and named the mission Operation Sindoor. In a recent episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) 17, the three celebrated woman officers of the Indian Armed Forces, Colonel Sofiya Qureshi, Wing Commander Vyomika Singh and Commander, Prerna Deosthalee shared the unheard details of Operation Sindoor.

Wing Commander Vyomika Singh talks about how Operation Sindoor was executed

For the unversed, on the Independence Day special episode of KBC 17, three decorated woman officers, Colonel Sofiya Qureshi of the Indian Army, Wing Commander Vyomika Singh of the Indian Air Force, and Commander, Prerna Deosthalee of the Indian Navy, appeared and shared the inside story of Operation Sindoor. In the episode, Vyomika talked about how nine camps in Pakistan were finalised, only to be destroyed within just 25 minutes. She also highlighted how women contributed to the mission. In her words:

“We attacked in the interiors of the enemy to break their backs. Twenty-one terror camps were recognised. Nine camps were finalised, and the game was done in 25 minutes. A weapon or a fighter aircraft doesn’t distinguish between males and females.”
