According to a recent paper published in Kidney International, a peer reviewed journal, a study by Indian doctors showed that between July 2021 to September 2023, of the 22 cases from Kerala assessed for MN, only four were caused due to phospholipase A-2 receptor (PLA2R) while 15 patients were NELL-1 positive. The remaining three were PLA2R and NELL-1 negative.
