(ANSA) – ROME, FEB 20 – Damiano David’s new single Next Summer will be out on Friday February 28, the Maneskin frontman who is on a solo break from the world-beating Roman rock band and who took the Sanremo Song Festival by storm last week, said on Thursday.
After enchanting the Sanremo audience with a touching interpretation of Felicità by Lucio Dalla and setting the Ariston Theater ablaze with his Born With a Broken Heart, he said Next Summer comes after Born With a Broken Heart and Silverlines, the song that inaugurated the artist’s solo project, and Nothing Breaks Like A Heart, a 2018 worldwide success by Mark Ronson ft. Miley Cyrus released in a special reinterpretation by Damiano for Spotify on the occasion of Valentine’s Day.
“At first listen, the song is about a young love, an unrequited summer romance. But on a deeper level, it reveals a much broader reflection. It is a metaphor for life: how we can sometimes be prisoners of ourselves, of our fears, of our insecurities, of our inability to change. Our inability to see the world and life from a different perspective in the crucial and determining moments of existence”, says Damiano.
Meanwhile, the anticipation is growing for the World Tour 2025 that will see the artist busy with over 30 dates in Europe, Australia, North America, South America and Asia.
The first Italian date is on October 7 at the Unipol Forum in Milan, while the date in Rome on October 11 at the Palazzo dello Sport is sold out, which by popular demand is doubling, with a second date on October 12. (ANSA).
