Day 1 – Two World Records on Opening Day at 34th AIDA Freediving World Championship in Wakayama

• Women’s Dynamic Bi‑Fins (DYNB) Dives marked significant leaps in the discipline, with both Torocsik and Bruce surpassing the previous world record by several meters:
  • Zsófia Törőcsik from Hungary claimed the top spot with 259 m, and became new World Record holder in this discipline,
  • Natalie Bruce, USA has won silver medal, with 249 m, and claimed Continental Record for Americas
  • Julia Kozerska, Poland has won bronze medal with 233 m

Continental records achived:

• Jiyeon Kim, Korea  with 232 m for Asia
• Enchante Gallardo, USA with 218 m for Americas, until Natalie Bruce dove
• Kathryn Nevatt, New Zeland with 201 m, for Oceania

National records:

• Germany, Hong Kong, Malesia, Philippines, Czechia, Thailand, India and Costarica

• Men’s Dynamic Bi‑Fins (DYNB) Men pushed the limits in this discipline, with spectacular performances. One more World Record was established, during the opening day of AIDA Freediving World Championship, Wakayama 2025:

• Guillaume Bourdila, France with 298 m, became new World Record holder and gold medalist
• Kai-Hsiang Chan, Chinese Taipei with performance of 270m, won silver medal and established new Continental record for Asia
• Po-Yen Lee, Chinese Taipei, with performance of 264

Continental records achieved:

• Adam Bryant, Australia with performance of 240 m for Oceania

National records:
