Around 20,000 dengue cases were registered in Maharashtra in 2023, and in 2024, the toll was 55 and 40, respectively. The city is witnessing a rising graph: as against 708 dengue cases in July, 404 were registered between August 1 and 15. A few of these patients are hit by rare manifestations of the infection, such as brain inflammation.
