(ANSA) – ROME, MAY 23 – Chiara Pellacani, after winning silver with Matteo Santoro in the 3-meter Mixed Synchro, won the gold medal in the 1-meter springboard at the European Diving Championships underway in Antalya, Turkey, on Friday.
The Italian obtained a total of 283.75 points, ahead of Sweden’s Elna Widerstrom, the defending champion, and Switzerland’s Michelle Luisa Heimberg.
Pellacani becomes the third Italian to win gold from the 1-meter springboard after Tania Cagnotto and Elena Bertocchi.
For the Azzurra, it is her eighteenth European medal (eight golds, 6 silvers and 5 bronzes).
Bertocchi paid for many small mistakes and did not go beyond eighth. (ANSA).
