Do You Wanna Partner follows the themes of ‘women in male-dominated fields’, which has been among the most talked-about subjects on the internet today. And while, in general, a show with depth, navigating the struggles of women would have been a hit, Amazon Prime Video’s latest series lacks the fizz. The series follows the characters of Tamannaah Bhatia and Diana Penty, two best friends trying to launch their own beer startup, as they navigate a male-dominated world. However, it ends up being the same mid-show story we have seen on the screen several times, making it kind of ‘yawn-worthy’.
Tamannaah Bhatia and Diana Penty’s beer business lacks the kick
Tamannaah Bhatia plays the role of ‘Shikha’, who is fired from her white-collar job in Gurgaon and seeks to utilise the time to revive her father’s dream of creating craft beer. She is soon joined by her best friend and marketing genius, ‘Anahita’ (Diana Penty), who also decided to quit her own job, and the two set out to make beer. However, they soon realise no one wants to take two women making the booze seriously.
