(ANSA) – ROME, MAR 26 – The European Central Bank (ECB) has issued a negative opinion on the request made by Banco BPM to apply the so-called “Danish compromise” rules to its takeover of Anima Holding, well-informed sources said on Wednesday.
The ECB’s opinion is non-binding as the European Banking Authoriy will have the final say on the issue, according to the sources.
Banco BPM, Italy’s third-largest lender, has bid for Anima through its insurance subsidiary BPM Vita. (ANSA).
