(ANSA) – ROME, AUG 4 – Lewis Hamilton has said he is eyeing a “reset” during Formula One’s summer break after calling himself “useless” and suggesting Ferrari should replace him following another poor showing in qualifying on Saturday for last weekend’s Hungarian Grand Prix.
It was a tough weekend for the Italian team, with Hamilton coming a lowly 12th in Sunday’s race and Charles Leclerc finishing only fourth, having started in pole position.
Leclerc faded badly in the latter stages of the race because of a chassis problem.
“It’s been a challenging weekend and one to move on from,” Hamilton said.
“We weren’t able to make the progress we hoped for but I’m grateful for the effort everyone in the team put in throughout the weekend.
“Now we head into the break. I’ll be using the time to reset, recharge and come back stronger.
“I’m not where I want to be yet, but the fight’s not over – don’t count me out.” (ANSA).
