French Open: Musetti retires hurt, Alcaraz into final

(ANSA) – ROME, JUN 6 – Defending champion Carlos Alcaraz got into tho the French Open final after Italy’s Lorenzo Musetti retired hurt with a leg issue while trailing 2-0 in the fourth set having lost the third set to love after winning the first with some thrilling tennis and losing the second in a tie-break.
The world number eight, who was aiming for his first slam final, more than held his own against the Spanish world number two in the first two sets, before his leg trouble began.
Four-time slam winner Alcaraz will face the winner of the second semi-final Friday night between world number one and three-time slam winner Jannik Sinner of Italy and Serb record 24-time slam winner Novak Djokovic.
The South Tyrolean, 23, has beaten the 38-year-old Serbian great on the last three occasions they played each other. (ANSA).
