The third meeting of the Group of Ministers (GoM) on electricity distribution, chaired by Union Minister of State for Power and New & Renewable Energy Shripad Yesso Naik, flagged growing financial stress in state-run distribution companies (DISCOMs) and called for urgent adoption of cost-reflective tariffs, AI-based reforms and financial restructuring to improve viability.
