Bollywood’s ‘He-Man’, Dharmendra, passed away on November 24, 2025, at the age of 89. The actor breathed his last at his Mumbai home, 12 days after he was discharged from Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital, where he was admitted after he complained of breathlessness. The late superstar was first married to Prakash Kaur in 1954 and, in 1980, married Hema Malini, despite being married to Prakash. An old statement of Hema Malini has now gone viral, where she spoke about falling for the actor, despite him being married to Prakash.

Dharmendra in Bollywood had a career spanning more than 6 decades and appeared in more than 300 movies. Now, Simi Grewal, best known for her show, Rendezvous, a while back, revisited her old interview of Hema Malini and Dharmendra’s love story. The actress had spoken of her love story and shared her meeting with Dharmendra at the premiere of one of the films. She thought she had never seen such a handsome man in her life. The actress was then asked if she ever resisted falling for him, as he was married to Prakash Kaur. Hema Malini said:
“I never bothered in the beginning but in my mind I used to think if at all I marry somebody it must be like him. Not him but it happens. But he constantly used to say that he loves me a lot. I used to say ok and never used to give him much lift knowing the whole consequences.”
