Hong Kong Airlines and China CITIC Bank International Launch a Revolutionary Co-Branded Mastercard for Travelers

Hong Kong Airlines (HKA) and China CITIC Bank International Limited (CNCBI) have partnered to launch the China CITIC Bank International Hong Kong Airlines co-branded Mastercard® card, offering customers a wealth of exclusive travel rewards and benefits. This collaboration enhances CNCBI’s credit card portfolio and is designed to drive credit card spending while providing exceptional experiences for travelers.

With global tourism on the rebound, this new Mastercard® card aims to meet the growing demands of customers seeking both travel rewards and financial flexibility. The co-branded card comes with numerous perks, including a complimentary welcome air ticket*, bonus rewards for spending, and unique travel privileges. Customers will enjoy a flexible points system that accelerates their ability to redeem points for discounted air tickets.

Further benefits include complimentary travel insurance*, airport lounge access*, and a variety of other exclusive privileges, allowing cardholders to maximize their rewards and enhance their travel experiences worldwide.

Ms Wendy Yuen, Head of Personal and Business Banking Group, CNCBI, said, “Tourism started to pick up its pace since the lower half of 2023. Strong Hong Kong dollar in 2024 also fuelled the overseas travelling boom for Hong Kong people. Overseas spending has accounted for more than 20% of the total value of credit card transactions at CNCBI in 2024.  Against this backdrop, the Bank and HKA are rolling out this new co-branded credit card for travel enthusiasts, giving them more credit card choices as well as rewards while enriching the credit card product portfolio of CNCBI and further boosting the overall credit card spending.”

Mr. Yan Bo, Chairman of Hong Kong Airlines, stated, “We are delighted to launch a co-branded credit card in partnership with CNCBI, marking a significant milestone in Hong Kong Airlines’ service innovation. This collaboration not only offers cardholders an array of travel privileges including points redemption for air tickets, priority boarding, and airport lounge access, but also establishes a new standard for the integration of aviation and financial services. As an airline deeply rooted in Hong Kong, we are committed to delivering a high-quality travel experience for our passengers and driving industry innovation. We are confident that this partnership will invigorate travel and consumption for the people of Hong Kong.”
