Iberia launches a new app with Háblalo to enhance accessibility, helping travelers with hearing or speech impairments communicate seamlessly.
Iberia has introduced a groundbreaking mobile application in collaboration with the startup Háblalo, aiming to enhance travel accessibility for individuals with hearing impairments or speech difficulties.
The newly launched Háblalo Iberia app is designed to complement the airline’s existing mobile platform, which already allows passengers to book flights and manage their travel plans seamlessly.
A standout feature of this app is its advanced transcription tool, enabling users to type a message that is then converted into spoken words or, conversely, transcribe an audio message into text.
To further improve communication, the app supports real-time translation across eight languages: English, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, and Catalan.
In addition to text-based interactions, users can communicate via pictograms or key travel-related terms covering categories like meals, electronics, personal belongings, and emergency services. Selecting an image triggers an audio playback of the corresponding word or phrase, making communication more efficient.
The Háblalo Iberia app is compatible with both Android and iOS devices, available for free download on the Play Store and Apple Store. Notably, it also functions offline, ensuring accessibility even without an internet connection.
This initiative aligns with Iberia’s broader commitment to accessibility. The airline recently expanded its website to include a dedicated accessibility section, offering travelers comprehensive guidance on improving their overall journey experience.
