(ANSA) – ROMA, 25 AGO – The Italian Residence in Copenhagen, starting Sept. 10, will host the exhibition ‘Photograms of Italian Fashion: from the 1950s, Italy dressing international cinema,’ curated by Stefano Dominella, honorary president of Maison Gattinoni. The exhibition consists of 22 dresses signed by famous couturiers, designers and ateliers such as Fernanda Gattinoni, Emilio Schuberth, Sartoria Peruzzi, Valentino, Giorgio Armani, Laura Biagiotti, Guillermo Mariotto.
Coming from private historical archives and the curator’s personal historical archive, dresses worn by actresses who made their mark and dictated new styles will be on display: the draperies encircling Lana Turner; Audrey Hepburn’s empire style, in the film ‘War and Peace’; the mermaid gown enveloping Anita Ekberg in Fellini’s ‘La dolce vita’; ‘les petites robes noires,’ favored by Anna Magnani.
Also on the exhibition itinerary are the dresses of Sabrina Ferilli, among the protagonists of Sorrentino’s Oscar-winning film ‘La grande bellezza,’ which brought back in vogue the imposing capes, taken up by major fashion houses; Monica Bellucci, immortalized by Tornatore in the film ‘Malena,’ and other divas: Gina Lollobrigida, Maria Callas, and Sofia Loren with her red dress, in the Italian mambo scene in Dino Risi’s film ‘Bread, Love and…’.
The exhibition will remain open until September 16.
