In Tunis focus on design and urban regeneration

(ANSA) – TUNISI, 03 MAR – For the ninth edition of the Day of Italian Design in the World, an initiative promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the Ministry of Culture, the Italian Embassy and the Italian Cultural Institute of Tunis brought Valentina Ciuffi, founder of the Alcova project, to the North African capital. Alcova is one of the most eagerly awaited events of the Milan Furniture Fair and Miami Art Week, and has been celebrated by newspapers of the calibre of the New York Times and the Financial Times for its ability to breathe new life into once-abandoned spaces through innovative contemporary design exhibitions.
This was announced by the Italian Embassy in Tunis, giving an account of two events that saw the design, architecture and art expert, Ciuffi, as the protagonist of a meeting with the students of the Enau in Sidi Bou Said and a dialogue with the Tunisian architect and designer, Chacha Atallah, in the Bardo Collections spaces of the Selma Feriani Gallery in La Goulette, which focused on the power of design to reinvent urban space. Unique opportunities to explore the role of design as an engine of change, with a focus on environmental sustainability and urban rediscovery.
