(ANSA) – BOGOTÀ, 18 GIU – At least 14 Italian companies are participating in Bogotá in the second edition of Expo GreenTech, a meeting dedicated to the green economy organised by the Italian Chamber of Commerce for Colombia.
“The companies taking part in this forum are world leaders in the energy transition and green economy sector, distinguishing themselves in different areas thanks to effective public policies, business innovations, and a strong environmental awareness. I greet the more than 14 Italian companies that have accepted our invitation and are here to strengthen ties with Colombia,’ said the Italian Ambassador to Colombia, Giancarlo Maria Curcio, at the opening of the event.
The diplomat recalled that ‘the Circular economy sector in Italy represents a significant part of the national economy, with an added value estimated at around 2.5% of the country’s gross domestic product, or EUR 43.6 billion’.
Furthermore, he claimed that a study of the 2024 Economy Report by the Symbola Foundation and the Luiss Guido Carli University showed that Italy is the European leader in recycling with 83.4% of waste.
