(ANSA) – ISTANBUL, 27 GIU – On the occasion of the Day of Italian Research in the World, the Italian Ambassador to Turkey, Giorgio Marrapodi, hosted Professor Caterina Petrillo, President of the Area Science Park of Trieste, at the Palazzo di Venezia in Istanbul, in a well-attended event entitled ‘Women in Science: Shaping the Future’, which was moderated by Dilek Bil, member of the independent board of Aydem Renewable Energy. The meeting represented an important opportunity to discuss the topics of innovation, scientific cooperation between Italy and Turkey, and the growing role of female leadership in the world of research.
In his speech, Ambassador Marrapodi emphasised ‘the importance of scientific research as a natural bridge for dialogue between different countries and cultures, as well as an essential tool for tackling major global challenges together’.
Professor Petrillo illustrated the activities and objectives of the Area Science Park, highlighting the importance of promoting open scientific ecosystems, capable of connecting talents, companies and institutions in a virtuous network of collaboration and innovation.
