(ANSA) – ROME, JUN 11 – Young Italian driver Matteo Doretto died in an accident on Wednesday in practice for the 2025 Rally Poland, an official told ANSA.
The 21-year-old from Pordenone, the 2024 Italian junior rally champion, crashed his Peugeot 208 Rally4 into a tree in the area of Elganowo, near the town of Pasym, Grzegorz Różański, the spokesman for the fire brigade of the Polish city of Olsztyn, told ANSA.
Doretto’s co-driver Samuele Pellegrino is in hospital and his condition is not serious, sources said. (ANSA).
