Behind the laughter lies a story of modest beginnings, sacrifices, and passion.
Kapil Sharma credits his artistic discovery to his father
Kapil Sharma’s late father, Jeetendra Kumar Punj, was a head constable in the Punjab Police and passed away in 2004 after battling cancer. Despite the constraints of his job, Kapil’s father always encouraged him to pursue a career in the arts. In a candid interview on his cousin’s podcast, Kapil shared how his late father saw the artist in him and encouraged him to pursue music. ETimes quoted Kapil as saying:
“My childhood was fine, I was not someone overly excited, I was a normal kid, and my father saw an artist in me. He used to promote me, support me, and encourage me to sing in school events. When I entered college, during my graduation days, whenever I participated in a function or event. I would tell my dad that I did this; he would be really happy.”
