(ANSA) – ROME, MAR 29 – President Sergio Mattarella on Saturday expressed Italy’s solidarity for Myanmar and Thailand after they were hit by a devastating, deadly earthquake.
The head of stare said the “images coming from the countries of South-East Asia” were “shocking” and voiced “feelings of deep sorrow for the many victims and solidarity for those who are fighting for their lives in these hours.
“The Italian Republic hopes that the flow of emergency aid can be facilitated with every possible instrument to support the rescue teams and the needs of the local people,” he said.
