(ANSA) – MADRID, 02 FEB – Singer Melody, 34, from Seville, will represent Spain at the Eurovision 2025 Festival, which will take place from 10 to 17 May in Basel, Switzerland, after winning the Benidorm Fest, in the final of the preliminary round, last night at the Sports Palace ‘l’Illa de Benidorm’ in Alicante, in the region of Valencia.
Melody will sing the song ‘Esa Diva’ with which she won the selection over the other contestants, 16 years after arriving at the gates of the European festival, in second position behind singer Soraya. The song ‘Esa diva’ (This diva) is about the empowerment of women and female solidarity.
Spain, as a member of the ‘Big five’, together with Italy, Germany, France and the United Kingdom, will be directly in the final of the Eurovision festival without going through the classifications.
