(ANSA) – ROME, JUL 17 – Premier Giorgia Meloni on Thursday blasted Israel’s strikes in the Gaza Strip after the Holy Family Catholic Church in the enclave was hit.
“The Israeli raids on Gaza have also hit the Church of the Holy Family,” Meloni said in a statement.
“The attacks against the civilian population that Israel has been carrying out for months are unacceptable.
“No military action can justify such conduct”.
ANSA sources said the church’s parish priest, Gabriel Romanelli, was among eight people injured in the strike.
Four of the eight were critically injured, including two women who were initially reported to have died but were subsequently resuscitated. (ANSA).
