Messina says not interested in minority stake in Generali

(ANSA) – ROME, FEB 4 – Intesa Sanpaolo CEO Carlo Messina reiterated Tuesday that Italy’s largest bank was not nterested in a minority stake in insurance giant Generali which is involved in third-biggest bank Monte dei Paschi di Siena’s bid for premier merchant bank Mediobanca.
“I reiterate that on our part there is no interest whatsoever in a minority stake in Generali”.
Mediobanca has a key stake in Generali. (ANSA).
