Minister says wife in queue-hopping row was threatened

(ANSA) – ROME, JUL 16 – An Italian minister whose wife sparked a row by allegedly jumping a Rome airport check-in queue has said she had been threatened and he lent her his escort because of this, justifying her actions.
“My wife was threatened,” which is why the escort accompanied her to the airport, wrote Business and Made in Italy Minister Adolfo Urso to Repubblica.it regarding the case sparked by actor Luca Zingaretti’s video complaint about the alleged queue-jumping at Fiumicino Airport, protected by the officers guarding her husband.
“I accompanied my 7-year-old son and my wife to the airport before going to the ministry. It’s the escort’s job to assess the security conditions,” Urso said in an interview with the Rome newspaper.
“(This is) a patch worse than the hole, (denoting) rudeness and arrogance,” commented the leader of the centrist Azione party, former industry minister Carlo Calenda. (ANSA).
