(ANSA) – ROME, AUG 18 – A 42-year-old tourist, a resident of Rome and vacationing in Salento, on Monday died after being struck by lightning while riding his motorcycle on State Road 275, between Nociglia and Surano, in Lower Salento.
The area was hit by a thunderstorm.
Carabinieri and paramedics responded to the scene.
The lightning reportedly threw him from his motorcycle and electrocuted him. (ANSA).
