MPS’s takeover bid for Mediobanca goes through with 38.5%

(ANSA) – ROME, SEP 3 – Subscriptions for Monte dei Paschi di Siena’s takeover bid for Mediobanca have exceeded 38.5%, exceeding the 35% threshold, and the offer has thus been successful.
MPS, the world’s oldest continually operating financial institute, is Italy’s third biggest bank.
Mediobanca is Italy’s premier merchant bank. (ANSA).
