Everyone is familiar with the story of Romeo and Juliet and their feuding families.
During Murder in a Small Town Season 2 Episode 2, there are lavish wedding preparations, but the couple is from two feuding families.
Camryn Manheim (Law & Order) portrays the groom’s mother, Jocelyn Tait, a no-nonsense matriarch, who has been burdened by this feud for way too long.

However, when one of the Connollys ends up dead, the long-running feud and Jocelyn are on full display.
Family Feuds Make Entertaining Drama, and This Role Will Allow Camryn Manheim to Shine
Family feuds are always interesting, but you have to wonder how a couple got together when their family had been bitter rivals for nearly 100 years.
Did they not care because their love was that strong, and they were naive to think the wedding would rejoin everyone as friends?
Camryn Manheim plays Jocelyn Tait, a working-class matriarch, who only returns to Gibsons because her son is marrying Sylvia Connolly.
If only their classes were the only thing separating these two.

However, these two families have a history of murder and secrets between them, and like any romantic suspense novel, someone is going to die before the wedding night.
Since the Gibsons police identify the body as a Connolly relative, that means the Tait family is under suspicion, beginning with Jocelyn.
Since she led many investigations at Law & Order, it will be interesting to see Camryn Mayheim on the other end of the table.
Cassandra and Mayor Holman Butt Heads at a Town Hall Meeting
Typically, Cassandra appears confident, but she faces several roadblocks.

She’s about to present herself at her first Town Hall meeting, which is nerve-wracking, but it’s worse because the mayor confronts her.
Mayor Holman acts like a spider that wants to squash its prey.
Mayor Holman holds the budget over Karl and Cassandra’s heads, knowing that Karl needs more help for his new jurisdiction and that he doesn’t want to squash his girlfriend’s dreams.
Gibsons is a small town, so it thrives on its history and tourism, creating an arts center as a worthy goal.
We would love to learn why the mayor is against it. Is it merely because of the budget, or does she hold a grudge against Cassandra for a prior offense?

Those two have history, and Cassandra doesn’t trust her.
Karl’s Other Daughter Visits and Feels Displaced
Other spoilers hinted that Karl’s older daughter, Steph, visits, and she is cool towards Cassandra at a family dinner.
I’m excited to see more of Karl’s family, and I’m relieved it’s the same actress who played Steph in the series premiere. Sometimes, things have changed since the pilot.
However, didn’t the series already do this in Murder in a Small Town Season 1 with Holly when she first arrived, and she felt she was in the way?
It made more sense with her since she was 16, but Steph is older and in college. She’s old enough to understand she can’t have her father to herself.

She should realize her father has moved on since the divorce. This seems like a tired plot, and hopefully, all of Karl’s girls will eventually get along.
I’d love to see more family time, especially of Holly and Steph catching up.
Will We Get Any Update on Sid’s Family Drama?
We loved that Sid is getting his own storyline this season, and with five daughters, there is bound to be some drama and tears.
While Murder in a Small Town is a procedural, we’re hoping the series touches on whether Liza is going through a teenage phase or if her alcoholic addiction is hereditary, similar to her aunt’s.
I hope that’s the route they take, because genetic mysteries and storylines are intriguing, and that was the most meaty material Sid had last season.

Sid is such a caring father and a dedicated worker that we want to see him in both aspects. I want to see Karl support Sid, just as Sid helped him in Murder in a Small Town Season 1.
Over to you, Fanatics.
