(ANSA) – ROME, MAR 14 – Italian Left (SI) leader and MP Nicola Fratoianni wrote on X that the dramatic impact of climate change could not be denied anymore as areas across Tuscany and Emilia-Romagna were on extreme weather ‘red alert’ over the risk of rivers overflowing their banks and floods as torrential rain hit the two regions on Friday.
Expressing solidarity to residents of Tuscany, the Pisa native wrote that “local administrators are once again dealing with the dramatic effects of climate change through the terrible consequences they are experiencing”.
“It would be appropriate for couldn’t-care-less climate deniers” to realize that “urgent and concrete steps are necessary to counter these extreme events”, said Fratoianni. (ANSA).
