Before the Asia Cup 2025, Salman Ali Agha led the Pakistan T20 cricket team into the 2025 United Arab Emirates T20I Tri-Nation Series, which featured Afghanistan and the UAE. Pakistan won the series comfortably, securing three wins despite losing to Afghanistan by 18 runs in the Sharjah match. For Pakistan, Fakhar Zaman scored the most runs (155) and Mohammad Nawaz took the most wickets (10). The T20I Tri-Nation Series was a massive confidence booster for Salman Agha and his team, who are drawn in Group A alongside India, UAE, and Oman in the 2025 Asia Cup.
