Paul Campbell’s Best Christmas Movies, Ranked: From Santa Shenanigans to Heartfelt Hilarity

When it comes to Christmas on Hallmark, few actors capture that blend of charm, wit, and grounded humanity quite like Paul Campbell

Whether he’s saving a small-town festival, writing himself into a romantic corner, or wrangling holiday chaos with his trademark grin, Paul has become one of Hallmark’s most dependable leading men… and a sharp writer, too.

He’s the guy who makes Christmas feel both magical and real.

And with The Santa Class and Three Wiser Men and a Boy both lighting up screens this season, there’s never been a better time to revisit the movies that made Paul a holiday (and Hallmark) favorite.

Below, we’re ranking his best Christmas movies — the ones he’s starred in and the ones he’s written — based on how much joy, laughter, and Christmas cheer they’ve brought us over the years.

1. Window Wonderland (2013)

IMDb 6.7 • Starring Paul Campbell and Chyler Leigh

This is where it all began for me — the movie that kicked off my Paul Campbell obsession. He plays Jake, a window dresser with a mischievous streak who goes toe-to-toe with a rival (Chyler Leigh of The Way Home) in a department store decorating competition. Their chemistry is off the charts.

Hallmark was still finding its Christmas groove back then, but Window Wonderland remains one of the most charmingly grounded rom-coms in its entire library.

It’s classic Paul: quick wit, easy charm, and that twinkle that says, “Yeah, I’d totally hang your Christmas lights for you.” The snow-covered kiss in front of their window display still gets called one of Hallmark’s most underrated finales.

2. Three Wise Men and a Baby (2023)

IMDb 7.5 • Starring Paul Campbell, Andrew Walker, and Tyler Hynes

Three Wise Men and a Baby was the Hallmark event of the year, and for good reason. Campbell joined forces with Andrew Walker and Tyler Hynes — the Holy Trinity of Hallmark — in what became an instant classic.

Not only was it laugh-out-loud funny, but it had genuine heart. Watching these three men fumble through diapers and family dynamics was the definition of holiday comfort.

Fans called it “the Avengers of Hallmark Christmas movies” and rewatched it on repeat, which about sums it up.

3. Three Wiser Men and a Boy (2024)

IMDb 7.0 • Starring Paul Campbell, Andrew Walker, and Tyler Hynes

The much-anticipated sequel, Three Wiser Men and a Boy, brings back the brotherly chaos and heart that made the first one special.

Fans were thrilled that it didn’t fall into the usual sequel slump — the chemistry still crackled, the jokes hit, and Paul’s comedic timing was as sharp as ever.

This one also gives him more of the quiet emotional beats, and he nails them. It feels like catching up with old friends at Christmas.

4. Christmas by Starlight (2020)

IMDb 7.1 • Starring Paul Campbell and Kimberley Sustad

(Hallmark Media/Screenshot)

If you’ve ever wondered when Paul Campbell’s witty streak met Kimberley Sustad’s sharp writing, this is it.

Christmas by Starlight is essentially the start of a Hallmark power duo. It’s funny, romantic, and perfectly paced — a modern classic with a script that sparkles as much as the performances.

Their banter feels effortless, the humor is sly, and it’s no wonder fans still point to this one as the moment Hallmark dialogue grew up.

5. The Santa Class (2024)

IMDb 7.0 • Starring Kimberley Sustad and Benjamin Ayres (Special Appearance by Paul Campbell)

Paul plays a man reluctantly training to become the next Santa Claus, and it’s pure comedic gold.

He nails the balance between exasperated everyman and holiday hero. He’s not the romantic lead, but his presence alongside his buddy, Kimberley Sustad, is well worth a watch.

The movie has a clever, self-aware humor that feels a little like Elf filtered through Hallmark’s cozy lens.

It earned a reputation as one of the funniest Christmas movies of that year, and it proves once again that Paul is at his best when he’s letting the comedy breathe.

6. Magic in Mistletoe (2023)

IMDb 6.3 • Starring Paul Campbell and Lyndie Greenwood

Unfairly underrated, if you ask me. Paul plays a grumpy author who’s allergic to Christmas spirit in Magic in Mistletoe, until a determined publicist, played by Lyndie Greenwood, drags him back into the holiday spotlight.

His curmudgeonly charm and reluctant warmth give this one staying power. It’s one of those stories that sneaks up on you — funny, sweet, and surprisingly cozy.

Viewers loved him as a cranky Christmas Scrooge who’s secretly soft inside, myself included.

7. A Godwink Christmas (2018)

IMDb 6.7 • Starring Paul Campbell and Kimberley Sustad

(Hallmark Media/Screenshot)

A sentimental staple, this one leans heavily on fate, faith, and timing — and Paul grounds it beautifully.

He’s so earnest and sincere that the story feels authentic instead of saccharine. People still say it gave them goosebumps the first time they saw it, and it’s easy to see why.

He makes you believe that little miracles can happen if you’re open to them.

8. The Nine Kittens of Christmas (2021)

IMDb 6.6 • Starring Kimberley Sustad and Brandon Routh (Cameo by Paul Campbell)

The Nine Kittens of Christmas is another Kimberley Sustad movie where her pal Paul has a blink-and-you-miss-it role. Still, it’s Christmas, kittens and Paul, and it’s good! So, it still scores.

9. The Santa Stakeout (2021) – IMDb 6.4

(Hallmark Media/Screenshot)

A holiday buddy-cop caper? Why not! Paul teams up with Tamera Mowry-Housley, and the result is silly in the best possible way.

It’s filled with playful energy, witty exchanges, and just enough mystery to make it stand out.

Fans didn’t know what to expect, but most ended up grinning the entire time.

10. Holiday Hearts (2019)

IMDb 6.6 • Starring Paul Campbell and Ashley Williams

(Hallmark Media/Screenshot)

This one’s quieter and more heartfelt, following two old flames who are forced to team up to save a community Christmas event.

It’s sweet and simple, showcasing Paul’s knack for grounding big emotions in small gestures.

Not every Christmas story has to be loud or flashy — sometimes a gentle one is just what we need.

11. Once Upon a Holiday (2015)

IMDb 6.2 • Starring Paul Campbell and Briana Evigan

(Hallmark Media/Screenshot)

Royalty in disguise, a charming everyman, and a little city sparkle — this one feels like classic Hallmark comfort food.

It’s not as polished as his later work, but it’s cozy, romantic, and unmistakably Paul.

Fans revisit it every year because it feels like Christmas in movie form.

Bonus: Paul Campbell, the Writer

When Paul’s not in front of the camera, he’s crafting stories that carry that same mix of humor and heart.

Christmas at Castle Heart (2021) has the European flair and fairy-tale romance fans love, while An Unexpected Christmas (also 2021) — the one starring Tyler Hynes and Bethany Joy Lenz — became an instant classic thanks to its clever fake-relationship setup and sharp, flirty dialogue.

If you sense a familiar warmth in those scripts, that’s no accident.

Paul Campbell has quietly become Hallmark royalty. He’s funny, grounded, and manages to make every story — whether he’s in front of or behind the camera — feel fresh again.

Between his charm, his writing chops, and his effortless comedic instincts, Paul isn’t just a Hallmark star. He is Christmas TV magic.
