(ANSA) – ROME, FEB 7 – Italian police said Friday that they have handed stadium bans to 16 people for allegedly apology of Fascism even though the offences took place in situations unrelated to soccer.
The police said the 16 had all previously been reported to criminal prosecutors in relation commemorations over the last two years in the southern Rome street of Acca Larentia to mark the anniversary of the 1978 murder of two neofascist youths.
During these commemorations large numbers of right-wing militants performed Fascist salutes.
The police said the ‘out-of-context’ stadium bans were handed to people from Rome, Milan, Naples, Salerno, Caserta and Avellino.
It said followers of AS Roma, Lazio and Napoli were among those affected. (ANSA).
