Rakesh Roshan At 75 Undergoes Surgery For 75% Carotid Artery Blockage, Says, 'If Ignored Could Be..'

Bollywood’s famous director, Rakesh Roshan, recently had to undergo an angioplasty. A few days back, reports were doing the rounds that Hrithik Roshan’s father, Rakesh, had undergone surgery due to a health condition. Now, the filmmaker had taken to his social media feed to make his fans aware of exactly what had happened to him. He urged his fans who were between 40 and 50 years old to be safe and to get their heart and brains checked regularly. Rakesh, at the age of 75, had undergone surgery for a blockage in his carotid arteries.

Rakesh had taken to his Instagram handle, where he was seen shaking hands with the hospital team. He looked fit as a fiddle; however, it is not certain whether the snap was taken before or after his surgery. In his social media post, Rakesh revealed how the doctors found that he had a 75% blockage in his carotid arteries to the brain when he had undergone a routine health checkup. Due to the same, he immediately underwent what was called a ”preventive procedure”. Rakesh was seen sharing a snap with the nurses of the hospital and shared how he had ignored his blockage. His note read:

“This week has been truly eye-opening. During a routine full body health check-up up the doctor conducting the sonography for the heart suggested I also do one for the neck. By chance, we found out that although asymptomatic, both my carotid arteries to the brain were above 75% blocked. Which, if ignored could be potentially dangerous. I immediately admitted myself into the hospital and got the preventative procedures done.”
