Rescued Donkey Living His Best Life at Sanctuary, Thanks to Your Support

Your donations are changing the lives of rescued animals big and small, including a donkey named Early.

He was taken in by The Sanctuary at Red Bell Run when he was just a few days old after his mother wasn’t producing milk and rejected him. He needed round-the-clock care to survive.

He stole the hearts of staff and volunteers and is now a permanent resident at the sanctuary. His true personality shines every day, and he keeps his caretakers on their toes with his antics.

They shared, “He is known for “helping” with chores by holding lead ropes, grabbing pitch forks, carrying hoses, and occasionally opening gates. While his playful personality keeps everyone smiling, it also means he needs a safe and healthy way to stay active and entertained.”

Thanks to your donations, he is getting the stimulation he needs to thrive. His caretakers said, “He absolutely loves chasing and playing with it. The ball helps keep him mentally stimulated, encourages exercise, and gives him an outlet for his playful energy. Seeing Early happily running and ‘smiling’ while playing with his ball is a wonderful reminder of how meaningful this grant has been for the animals in our care.”

Injured, neglected, and sick horses and donkeys continue to arrive at rescues in need of care. Rescues rely on support from generous people like you to provide the food, care, and essential supplies for the animals to survive and thrive.
